Frequently asked questions

How much does installation cost?

Install-only fitting of a softener you already have is £299. There’s no upfront payment when you book, and you pay on the day.

Does the price include the softener?

No. This service is for fitting a softener you already own or have bought yourself. If you need a unit too, see our Water Softener page.

Can you fit a softener I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we can fit most standard domestic water softeners. Share the make and model when you book and your engineer will confirm it’s suitable.

What do I need to have ready?

Your softener and all its parts, plus clear access to where the mains water comes into your home, usually under the kitchen sink or in a utility room. Your engineer will let you know if anything else is needed.

What if my home needs extra pipework?

Your engineer will look at your setup and confirm before starting if anything beyond a standard installation is needed, so you know where you stand.

Will my water be turned off?

The mains supply usually needs to be off for part of the visit while the softener is connected. Your engineer will let you know before it’s turned off.
